Sorry Gatehouse, I have to respectfully disagree with your statement.......:(

We really appreciate the engagement on our hiring thread. It’s great to see the industry supporting businesses navigating the challenges of the Canadian firearms market. Joking aside, we’re looking for team members who are genuinely passionate about what we do and excited to join the team. We’re not trying to withhold information, if salary is your main concern, you’re just one call or an email away from getting the details. But if this is a deal-breaker for you during a CGN listing, it’s probably not the best fit. Honestly, this might be the easiest way to weed out those who aren’t serious. ;)

Have a good weekend guys, don't forget to go out and touch some grass/snow.
So many red flags I don't even know where to start.

Lol!!! I’m surprised that a thread, started by a business, to advertise a opportunity for employment made it to two pages of comments that had no benefit to the business or the people behind the comments itself….. like, do you guys carry a badge to lol!!!!!!!!

Your actually wrong!......:)

Every time someone comments, the thread gets bumped to the top.

With 27 or 28 bumps so far, that means it gets huge exposure each time.

On average, maybe 10% of people will comment, maybe even lower than this. But let's say it is ten percent. Times this by how many viewers see the bump, and you are in the tens of thousands, maybe more.

So algorithms dictate that each time the post or thread is bumped, it receives huge exposure.

Black Box probably did this on purpose to achieve the most views possible on a job that may or may not would have gotten all this attention.

Originally, this wasn't my objective, but it would appear other people would also like to see a posted job vacancy with salary expectations. Well at least that was my interests...........:)

Can u at least give us a clue? Say I wanted a firearm cerakoted. How many pay cheques would that be?
The average cost to Cerakote an entire rifle is usually between $350.00 and $400.00, depending on the condition of the rifle to be prepped.

Black Box Custom prices may be different?

I highly recommend this idea though, one can make your favorite rifle almost any color, and the corrosion resistance is amazing to say the least.

Fine, we’ll give into the pressure. Using a Tim Hortons Double Stacked Farmers Wrap Meal as our unit of choice:

Our base salary range is 5,540 to 6,650 Meals, depending on experience.

Commission is calculated as a percentage of pre-existing gross national sales, which currently works out to about 2,500 to 3,000 Meals.

Hopefully this clears the air. 🤔

You nailed it there. I'm not sure why you guys are getting roasted over not posting compensation. Anyone that is in sales knows approximately what to expect for outbound sales with a company of your size, offering services, and will ask exactly what the compensation will be and also projected growth for the new position, IE how much commission do you think I will make as outbound sales.

One thing that does stand out to me compared to other outbound sales job is that you have no mention of work life balance or flexible hours. Typically that is mentioned because as outbound sales you are meeting the needs of the business, whatever hours they are, and a give take relationship is necessary.

My 2 cents from a guy in sales that's not interested in the position.

EDIT: If my Timmi's math adds up Looks likes $20 an hours plus $9.50 an hour avg commission. Make that a best buy selling TVs or a Wireless shop.

I have hired sales jobs before and I’m not sure I would post a salary with it.

Sometimes the perfect hire is 3 years out of high school and ready to hustle and offering $55K would be more than fair for both parties.

Sometimes the perfect hire is 20+ years in related experience and $150K plus incentives is the right answer.

Many small business have flexibility in what they offer and how big a risk they are willing to take, but it takes meeting the right person.
