This is probably asked once a week. But still I can't find this piece of information. U guess they hide it well. Can someone point me to a spot in criminal code that says antique firearms are not considered firearms and no license or cert is required for possession??
Thanks

cc s.84(3) :yingyang: , IIRC...:)

look on the sticky "link to antique regs" at the top of this forum. On page 2 you will find scans of the pertinent regs. cc84 1(a) covers pre 1898 muzzle loaders, cc84 1(b) covers proscribed guns (includes modern flintlock long guns) Statement of Regulation 98-464 proscribes which guns and cc 84 3 spells out the exemption of antiques. Antique firearms however become modern if used in a crime

Prescribed Antiques

Then after reading S. 84 (.1a, .1b and .3), go to SOR 98 - 464 and check out "Regulations Prescribing Antique Firearms", section 2 Schedule S.1 regarding "Black Powder reproductions". Happy reading...
