The P-38 wasn't designed to win the war, but it is accurate enough for shooting someone in the head when they are kneeling right in front of you.
My thought too.

...looks like Megatron to me.

Oooos, Me bad. Missed the P38 part. What year is the gun? Mine's a 80's vintage referb P1. Still I had the 1.5' groups to begin with.
OK how about this; It was accurate enough for Hitler to blow his head off with.
Looking back thru my notes, my group size shrunk to paper plate size using a 124gr BDX bullet above 4.2 gr Win 231. Approx 1000'/sec.
Anyone know what 124gr factory loads are available? I have never see any on the store shelves but then again I don't look too close.
Actually, it is thought that Hitler used a Walther PPK 7.65mm [aka .32ACP] for the job & not a P-38 9mm....

NAA.
European (CIP spec) ammunition should provide the closest match to the ammo it was designed for, something along the lines of S&B's 124 grain would be the closest factory load. If you can get some 9mm NATO it should purr.
