How are these guns with slugs? Are they point of aim accurate, or is there always some type of hold you have to learn? Really would like one that could throw slugs 25-75m away reasonably close

Was shooting slugs at the range today out of my versamax. With that particular load; I was grouping about 4" - 6" to the right and 3" low on a 100 yard target using the bead and f/o front sight to aim. Modified Choke was still in.

Dan,

I too have had good results with slugs. I've done so with both a modified choke and a slightly more open "skeet 2" I use more often. Even with the relatively crude sights, I did OK. The guns can be zeroed too with slugs. That was done when I got my modifications. My gun was dead on and shoots just 1.5 inches high at 50 yards. It's not a rifle but still capable of centre of mass hits at reasonable distance. While not a tack driver, anything hit by a 12 ga slug is going to show you mucho respect. From what I've read, you can use slugs with up to a modified choke and even a full without doing damage. The cautious position would be to stay with modified or wider.

I shoot low-recoil slugs for competition as the full loads get a little old with rapid fire shots unless you are a gorilla.

Yep - that first post explained it a bit.
Things didn't really change, just some loopholes used.
The limit is 5 rounds of the cartridge that the semi automatic centerfire firearm is chambered for.
Since the Versamax sport is chambered and labelled for 3.5" shells, it would be illegal if it held 6 rounds of 3.5" shells in the tube.
You can get 7 rounds of 2 3/4" shells in a sub-6 round tube, so therefore on this gun - 7 rounds of 2 3/4" in the tube is legal.
Ghost load one and put a round in the chamber and the gun can start with 9 rounds.

Point of Clarification:

We're bringing in Nordic Extension Tubes to sell with our Versamax shotguns as complete packages for the "Ultimate Canadian 3 Gun Shotgun" solution.
If we have extra tubes, we'll sell them - but right now, we only have enough for shotguns.

Of course, we'd be happy to sell you a Nordic Extension tube for $1334, which would also include a 26" Versamax, Extended bolt handle and the barrel clamp for the tube.:D

Sorry for any confusion...

You should really think about becoming the "Canadian Nordic Components Connection".

You would sell a ton of them. I know lots of people who would love to have a 10+1 870.

ooOOooo! Any photos of this creation?

If I'm in Alberta can I get away without the funny NovaScotia tax?

Here is my VM Tactical. Add 4 inches to the barrel and if I'm not mistaken while the VMT is all black, the 26 inch has a combo black and grey stock. Not very different overall but less black. I don't think you will get the rail but Mr. Sean can be precise.

For most purposes, the "tactical" choke that came with mine is useless. Mine will never go back on the gun as it immediately puts you in "open" because it's ported.

Hopefully you guys don't mind me posting this here. This is my 28" Sportsman with the Nordic Comp extension and clamp from Freedom Ventures (absolutely awesome to deal with btw! Thanks again). It also has a Nordic oversized bolt release and bolt handle. As stated, it'll hold 7+1+1 rounds of 2.75". It was a pretty sweet feeling loading up 9 slugs the other day lol. Shotgun has been amazing so far, cycles everything with authority. Obviously the 26" version will be 2" shorter, and the finish will be a bit different, etc.
