Now it begins...The grandson's 358!

Well I just got Eddie Von Antzigan( Peterborough Gunsmith extraordinaire!!) to rebarrel an old and Bubbaed BYF 41 98( Oberndorf) action in 358Win. I got the barrel on Ebay for 75$US.Got the action at Belleville Gun Show from a table down from DOUG for 125 + two stocks(one nice sporter and a Bubba 98). The bolt will be cut and welded(Brownells handle), FN shroud,Timney trigger w/side safety,Stock is in future, synthetic or walnut? a Redfield full base,with a folding peep(Don't make these any more!!) and what ever else I can find/use. By the way he is 12 days old so Grandpa will have to break it in for him on a moose or deer or two. I.m getting a new camera card so I'll post pics as we progess from time to time.I'm hoping to have it ready for October. So here' to a brand new HUNTER!!!! JIMINTHECORNER

Grandson,s 358 Progress report

Well the "new" barrel is on and ready to be tested soon,problem is it has no sights yet. On way back from Eddies Shop I droppedin to Accuracy Plus and picked up a used Kahles scope 2.3x7.5 In excellent shape. Have to put that on first!Bear with me .JITC

Grandson,s 358 Progress report

Have picked up a parker hale trigger w/side safety. It has a piece to be cut off since I don't have(or want to) groove the rec,vr bottom. Willcutting this off have any effect? Should I choose another trigger? BOLD/Timney? I also have set triggers/with kicker etc. but I.ll have to have Eddie Vonatzigen put those on. Oh well He is only 1 month old still! Could use some advice here Thanks JITC
