now ready for some long range shooting!

Try H50BMG. Apaprently works like a hot damn in 338 Lapua AI.

Damned fine paintjob. Maybe we'll have someone picking up where Skullboy abandoned us!

Now that you have a long range rifle, you need a long range. The MPRA shoot at St Charles which has 1000 firing points, but a short danger area. One group (forget who) shoot at Shilo, and the danger area is good for 155mm artillery.

If you want to shoot known distances, consider shooting at Nokomis in Saskatchewan. They have a 1200 yd range with paper targets and butts. The danger area is at least 2 sections with very little but grainfields.

And yes, nice paint job, but can you/it shoot consistent groups?

I think if more Canadians spent the time in building rifles like yours, mine and a bunch of others on this site, we'd get more recognised by the arrogant nieghbors south of our border.

Still yet to have fired it, waiting on my seating die from south of the border! I have been thinking about shooting it at St Charles, but I have a large acreage where 1 mile is no problem so I probably will spend some time there first before any "public" outings:p . As for the paint job, it has crossed my mind to do a few more..........

Actually theeree arre quite a few Canadian builders that are internationally recognized .
Paul Reibin , Ian Robinson , PWG , Gaillard and Keith Cunningham are just a few that pop into my mind .

Some of these guys have been winning International matches and building quality rifles for longer than some of us have been alive!
Ellwood Epp's name was as well known as Ackley's and Donaldson's in the 40's and 50's.
Ron Smith is very well know down south , as was mentioned.
His barrels are a very sought after commodity in the BPCR World....

Ask the makers you've mentioned how many complete rifles they've shipped to the states. Talk to NightForce or U.S. Optics that are shocked at the bigs scope that are being shipped to Canada. The action makers down south like Nesika, Dakota, or Surgeon. The can't understand what we're doing with them up here. Going back to my original statement, the americans for the most part still don't take us seriously.

Glock-a-maniac,
You are probably correct about American opinion, but the reality is that they have no idea what happens in the rest of the world outside their borders.

I used to visit Seattle and would regularly convince locals that I lived in an igloo.

We only get to see what the media lets us see....The next time you are in Toronto watch the news and observe how much coverage the west coast gets (almost none).

The U.S. is just one country, and I don't think the people I mentioned are too worried about selling their stuff down there because they are very busy.

Why would an action manufacturer or a scope manufacturer be surprised at what we are doing up here?

The things we are doing up here are no different that what they are doing down there, and they've been doing it for a very long time.
