Now that clubs re open, any clubs with odd restrictions?

So hopefully, we're all smart enough not to do that - but why? Heck if someone could get it approved, it would be fun to try to bust a few clays with shot loads in the 1911. (Not that the chance will arrive in our lifetime.)

Just over 1/4 oz of #9 @ 1100 fps - plenty for close clays - pink spring on the trap - less distance concern than a 410. Fun - yes. Legal - no. Ill advised - probably. ;)

If it was something like this I agree.

I'm sorry. That's truly sad. Somebody is playing politics at your expense. :(

Or acting on the letter of the law.

Does not matter what anyone says now that the OIC is law. Only matters what a judge thinks.

Barrel over 20mm anywhere....prohibited.

There is not standard or measurement in the law. Just a measurement, and 'bore'. Pretty cut and dry.

So I guess you're a judge then?

If the only thing that matters is what a judge thinks, and this hasn't gone in front of a judge, what makes you so sure? Its entirely possible that a judge would take one look at what the RCMP released earlier this month about it which clearly states what the Labs methodology is (infront of the chamber but before the choke, and guns are classified by their nominal caliber not physical measurements), and go well they're the experts in Canada, what the Lab says is the rule.

Personally, I have no freaking idea, and to me thats the worst part. It would be nice to really know, but Bill Blair keeps saying they didn't ban 22s so I can't exactly trust him on the shotgun thing either (and as far as Im concerned the RCMP Lab was likely pushed to make that release) and yet at the same time, a large portion of 12ga's being banned has the potential to be highly lucrative financially for the gun orgs so I can't completely dismiss the idea of the gun orgs trying to blow up a non-issue for the attention either. And the REALLY ####ty part is there is no obvious signs of a solid answer coming any time soon either.

at the club we shoot the most, social distancing , exact change ,no groups bigger than five, tubes are fine ,if they banned choke tubes, they wouldn't have enough shooters for a small squad

I'm not sure how solid an answer you want. If it wasn't obvious to us, the minister responsible and the RCMP, who administer the program, have declared that it just ain't so. You could go up a mountain to a burning bush and bring back stone tablets, but I'm not sure a court would place any higher value on those than on the minister and the RCMP. A court can't settle it because there is no prosecutor in the country who would put forward a case with no merit.

Unless your range license allows for shooting or possessing Prohibited firearms..of course it needs a rule saying you can’t use them.
Ranges, clubs and their elected or appointed officers have to follow provincial and federal law, or risk closure. Understand the first rule of being a club official is to protect the club and its members..and that means compliance.

As an aside any rule that involves the use of gloves is misguided..pet peeve perhaps but ‘glove use’ does not in any way provide a measure of hygiene..
