just got in from the garage where I had a new stainless 24-1/2" long 224" blank in the lathe...was going to cut and crown it at 22" and start on a 223 for my stainless 700 action and LVSF stock...........then I took another look at that 24-1/2" tube and realizing that they are really tough to stretch.......I had to stop for a minute......now I'm wondering if I should get a .473" action and just build a 24" long 22-250.......I get the action, stock and barrel in hand and I still can't decide what to build......I wanted the 223 a bit on the shorter side for a truck gun for coyotes.....but if I build it 24" in 223 it'll be too long...but if I build it 24" in 22-250 it'll probably get used for the same thing.......it's tougher when you don't really "need" another rifle...cartridges and action/stock combos get harder to decide on....and then there's that Brown Precision long action ADL stock that's sitting emtpy...nothing more lonely looking than a good stock like that without a barreled action in it......take my advice guys...if you've ever considered getting your own lathe...think twice...:D

Now you tell me!
Cut it to 22 and build the 223, you can always get another action and build the 22-250 later. Your inner voice says, "You need more guns". Listen to your inner voice...

Leave it 24" and punch it out to 223 AI maybe?

I should clarify that it has to be a repeater...if I want a single shot I'll get a Ruger #1...

just last week I rechambered a 223AI to 22-250AI...now it should feed....
