This is not a knock-a-Norinco-thread

I would like to know roughly how many rounds people have put through their NP-22’s &34”s Sig clones so far. Anyone that had a problem please tell us how many rounds you went through before.

Mine was at 2,000 rds started cracking.

my NP34 went through about 1000 rounds when i inspected it and sold it... the new owner ran some (500 ish) hand loads in it before it failed, i don't know if the gun was completely to blame or just hot reloads

Not to defend the Norks (although I have a few), but the last time we shot our CF qual, the "system" gave us jacketed hollow points and said that the regular IVI 9mm wasn't good for "real" Sig P225's.

Well they are mistaken. I used my P225 on three shooting courses, totaling 3,600rds, Service pistol practice and competition for three years ( 5,000-10,000rds), and constant practice since then (2,000-3,000rds). most with standard IVI. I suspect that the "system" uses the duty ammo in practice to instill confidence in the reliability/zero of the guns when using it.

Redleg,

We aren't MPs so the duty round wasn't an issue (my guys are carrying Sigs in Kandahar), but the ammo techs specifically asked what we were shooting, and gave us "meathead" rounds for them.

Navy Shooter, was the gun less than a year old? (since you're getting a replacement)

I'm/was thinking of getting one but I will probably only shoot 1000-2000 though it in a year and it would suck if it'd brake few mounth after the 1 year warranty expires

mine's got 1.5K down the pipe so far, no rail cracking problems, and after all the fun discussions here I've gone over them with a magnifying glass.... maybe time for a microscope? :D

Keep in mind that if 10 people have cracking problems out of 1,000 pistols it's a problem, if the same ten are out of 10,000 then the story begins to look different, it would be nice if the dealers here might give their guess as to how many of these guns have entered the country.

These stories of rails cracking aren't good to hear... I have a genuine Sig Sauer P226R 9mm, are they prone to failure as quickly ar the Norc's?
