I wish to adjust the rear sight on my NP 22 for windage. I've tried drifting it with a brass punch & hammer and it will not move. I've found some old threads of different people's experiences and it seems some could move the sight and others couldn't. There was some mention of the sight possibility being silver soldered, haven't seen any confirmation of this.

I was looking at buying a rear sight pushing tool. Has anyone used one of these tools with success on the NP 22 and if so which one did you use? Thanks.

I used to own one and was able to move (my recollection is the front) sight for windage. Its possible I played with the back sight as well. Maybe try some WD-40 with the brass punch before giving up?

I have a NP 58, same pistol in .40 S & W. While not silver soldered, they do use some type of bonding agent (maybe similar to 401 locktite). I made a special hard-wood block on my table saw to fit the side of the slide. I generally use a homemade composite punch made from a block of kevlar/nylon to drift sights; not luck with that. No luck with an aluminum punch either; I had to use a steel punch to get it moving. Once I got it moving, the aluminum punch is working fine, but it is still darn tight. The sight is undamaged, but I will be hitting the finish with a bit of touch-up blue; once I finish adjusting it. It seems to be shooting right on, but a couple of more trips and about 400 more rounds should verify it LOL!!

These are amazing pistols for the money!
