Nice, I did the same with a shooters arms, didn't much care for the Czech steel cased stuff, that and I had a case head failure with some ancient Remington 30 Mauser.

Damn, I have been wanting one of these barrels for a long time, up you can load the Tokarev to some serious firepower. If anyone knows where I can find one of these barrels please drop me a PM.

I had a NP29 that shot poorly, so I got the J&J barrel kit (with a bushing). i bought 2 38 mags to go with it.

The barrel was slightly too long. Gunsmith gave it a couple of licks with a file, and it was a perfect fit.

milsurp ammo is a bit too long to fit the 38 mags, so I seat the bullets a bit deeper. they feed and shoot perfectly.

I reload using 110 plated M1Carbine bullets or 95gr SWC lead bullets sized 309. Both make this the most accurate 1911 I own.

Do you mind me asking, where you got the barrel from?

I got a whole gun in 7.62x25 for $179...even came with 2 mags, and a holster....lol.
Neat concept, but with having to seat and recrimp ammo for it would ruin it for me. Now a .38spl wadcutter 1911 is still on my to do list someday...

I dont re-crimp the ammo. I can fir 8 rounds in those mags.

Looks like I need a stronger main spring. Had a lot light strikes, but feeding was flawless.

Yes, i should mentioned this. The hammer spring is not strong enough to fire the milsrp primers. I get about 50% misfires. I have sine switched to shooting handloads because it has become a target pistol. But if I was to shoot milsurp, it would get a stronger hammer spring. A $4.00 investment.

My Norc 1911 is at a gunsmiths getting the J&G barrel and bushing mated to the slide, followed by refinishing the pistol. Cant wait to get it to the range.
