So I shot it today. Was too windy and cold to shoot for groups. The gun cycles well and I got about 6 misfires in the 40 rounds I fired. 4 fired by the 3rd hammer strike and 2 were complete duds. I am quite impressed with the conversion. Ganderite: when you get misfires or need to unchamber a live round, do you have to drop the mag and then rack the slide to allow the live round to slide down the mag well. Its like the ejection port is too short for a live round.
I seat all the military ball ammo deeper, to the same OAL as a 38 Super. That fits the mag and ejection port.
I found almost 50% fail to fire. I ordered a heavy hammer spring, but in the meanime bought soem brass and started loading my own and found it to be the most accurate 1911 I own.
