I took my Nickel NP-30 out to the range a while ago and put 60 rounds through it. Every few shots a live round would get stuck with the rear pointing up and out of the ejection port.

I was using american eagle 230 grain ball and Blazer .45 ammo also 230 grain ball.

Before even firing the pistol, I put an 18 pound ISMI recoil spring and a FLGR in.

What is the likely hood that the recoil spring could have cause this? I have not had a change to go to the range and try putting the standard guide rod and stock spring back in it.

...And no I was not limp wristing, my grip was nice and high under the beaver tail.

I would try the factory spring for starters. Its near impossible to tell if the replacement is causing issues until you see how the pistol performs with factory parts. Second, limp wristing has little to do with grip position, it is very possible even with a high grip on the backstrap. Not that I'm saying you limp wrist, just saying its possible regardless of grip.

Hmmm. My NP-30 would run endlessly on standard ball, but choked on anything that had a truncated cone bullet or even vaguely resembled a hollow-point or semi-wadcutter. Any of the win-clean truncated cone rounds made the gun a single shot.

If a change back to factory standard parts fixes it, its the spring/flgr. If it doesnt, then it might be a problem with the feed ramp on the barrel.

I miss my np-30. I only sold it becaue the grips are just too fat for my small hands.

Heh yeah the grips are pretty fat. I'm going to take a close look at the feed ramp and see how it looks.

I'll try and go to the range next month with the standard parts in it. If it still jams I guess it's back to Marstar for warranty.

Took it out to the range today and fired 120 rounds. I used both the stock parts and the FLGR and the ISMI spring.

The gun is fine, it is two of the mags that jam on the last round. Now I just goota send them back to marstar and swap them.
