Hi guys. I just picked up a Norc NP 34 on a trade. Test fired only. Just wondering if anyone knows of any issues/quirks these things may have, or popular upgrades, like Sig spring kits etc. It has a set of Hogues on it. Seems to be a popular upgrade. The gun seems solid and the finish ain’t bad.
Thanks

The only thing I ever bothered doing to Norc Sig copies is to replace the grips. The next most popular upgrade seems to be the SRT trigger kit. I find the trigger on the newer copies to be decent so I won't bother. It would be nice if there were easier solutions to upgrading the sights.

Hi there. I bought an NP34 a few years back. I agree with B - replace the factory grips. I put on a set of Pachymeyer rubber grips. They were for the Sig P228, but fit just fine, and feel great. I have not replaced anything else. I managed to find a restricted P228 complete upper, which fits. Interestingly, the factory set up is a tac driver, and more accurate than the Sig setup!!
I also bought a bunch of extra Norinco mags from the same supplier I bought the gun from.
I have found that the Sig upper kits in 22LR for the 228 do not fit on my NP34 frame, unfortunately.
Hope that helps!

Great. Thanks for the replies. I sometimes wonder about the quality/durability of the Norc internal parts. I know the 1911’s are solid. Wasn’t sure on the Sig clones.

I’ll be checking that out. I wonder would a SIG firing pin fit if it was to break? That was what I was looking at anyway. If parts break, replace with genuine SIG parts. Easier said than done I’m sure.

If you dry fire a lot in DA, stick a 1/2" rubber washer in the back orifice. It will prevent the hammer from hitting the firing pin full on.

FWIW I have dry fired mine thousands and thousands of times plus all the ammo I've run through it. No issues yet though I do use proper snap caps.

I've had a few Sig norinco clones over the years. Changed the grips, some ammo but never kept them long enough to worry about springs or any parts. No reliability issues tho.
