So I bit the bullet and snapped one up from Canadaammo. I had the bug to buy another hand gun. What can I say broke =rinco for me. Total shipped to my door was $366.45. Took a little over a month to get here. (They were quite busy regestering all the new guns) Gun came in a crappy plasting case that now resides somewhere under my reloading table.

Everything came sealed in plastic bags with a thin coat of heavy oil. Gun, 2 mags, cleaning rod/screwdriver, manual. Also a hunk of paper I almost pitched but decided to open. Inside were a spare trigger bar spring a mag release spring. Good thing I opened it.(BTW it uses the old style trigger bar spring) As well as some sortal picky thing ?

Pulled it appart cleaned everything up and started looking for the tell tale rinco machining marks. Total for the count was 2! The sides of the rear sight and inside the top of the slide. I was quite amazed.

Looking through the sights, the white dots are more of a yellowish tinge but I could care less. I don't even notice the dots when Im shooting it.

The DA trigger is well, like a fat chick. HEAVY. Not really worried once again because I will hardly ever use it. The SA trigger however is great. Short, light and crisp. Im happy.

The slide release and de-cocker both opperate smooth aswell.

Now for the bad part. The mags are pop rivited to 10ish rounds. Keep in mind thes are 11rd mags to start with. One mag holds 6 well the other holds 7. The rivit is too high. Gonna have to fix that.

The UGLY!
If there is one thing I hate it is plastic. (Glock :stirthepot2:) The grips are an abortion. Hard slippery plastic. I didn't even bother trying to shoot it with them. The day after it showed up I was off to the store for a set of Hogues.
The Hogues fit but needed to be modified slightly on the inside. The guide for the spring on the backstrap is slightly higher than on a real Sig (about 1/16'' or so) quick work with a sharp knife and I was in business. Now she feel great.

So now its time for some range work. I had 500 rds of wolf reload 180grn 40S&W. Now I have 500 empties. Not a single problem and no cleaning in there. The sight were bang on at 25M. Now I am by no means good with a handgun but I was able to shoot them all into 6'' and 25M. Pretty good for me. Im going to let my buddie who is much better have a crack at it and see what the real accuracy is.

So after 500rds there is only some wear on the outside of the barrel. The aluminium frame shows no wear what so ever. Even on the slide rails.

For the money I don't think you could go wrong. It goes bang all the time, does not cost a fortune, ammo is reasonable ($15 box) and I still have all my fingers left after fireing.

Anymore questions let er rip.

nice. im cant wait til mine gets here along with the m213( yep, ordered both). looks like a good 350 bucks gun. and those new grips looks much better .

sorry for bumping an old thread. I am interested in this baby. I see some reddish spots on the inside. Is it rust? Did you give it a nice and thorough wash before you shot her? How do you lubricate her? Do you use a lot of oil? Grease on the slide?

Its not rust. Its just the colour of the metal after heatreat. Kind of a really deep red/brown colour. Light coat of oil on moving parts/surfaces.

Can you take some more pics of the barrel? Nork used a 2 piece unit for a while in the 228/226 clones, just wondering if this one is the same.

The paint in their sights get tainted with the grease they pack it in, i took a small drill bit and took out the old paint and using one bristle from a brush put a couple of drops of white hobby paint into the holes, looks great.

were your sights bang-on using the 'dot dot dot' or 'dot the i' method of target acquisition?
me using the [...] on mine shot a foot low at 22M which makes me think these guns are meant [as other "sig owners" have said] to use the [_^_] dot the I method

I know this is an old thread but noticed the OP's NP58 came with two (2) magazines.

My NP58 came with only one, as the seller said it originally came with only one. Shouldn't all NP58s come with two mags as well?

I didn't ask who the dealer was for this one-magged NP58. I don't know what reason a dealer for have for selling pistols with only one mag. I wouldn't mind selling 1911s with one mag, or even no mag, because you can buy 1911 mags anywhere at reasonable prices.

Sad part is, Marstar listed Norinco NP58 at $35 but no stock. I can't find any Norinco mags and no reasonably priced Sig magazines as they would all come to about $60 shipped....for a 350 dollar pistol!!!

End of rant.
