Just got my Norinco NP22 (9mm copy of Sig 226) that I ordered during SFRC's 15% off Mother's Day special.

I can't believe what a decent pistol this is for $267.00 including taxes and free shipping. I was expecting a nasty double action, that from the reviews would have me believe it to be nearly unusable. Instead, the double action is quite decent, hardly what I would call heavy. Similar to what you would find on a S & W double action revolver that is fresh out of the box. Maybe even a little better. Single action, the trigger is fine. Perhaps I will find the reset to be a little to be desired, or maybe its just something to get used to. That remains to be seen.

The finish on the pistol is a solid 7/10. Nothing to complain about. Just fine for a military or police grade weapon.

Can't wait to give a report from the range. From what I've heard, the accuracy is pretty decent on these pistols, and I don't expect it at all to be hard to shoot.

Love mine had it for years other than some Hogue grips
put a lot of rounds through her great value

See my thread about the NP22s it contains all you would need to know about the model. I sold mine recently but i wish i hadn't :) So perhaps i will get another. Too bad i did not came across thst sale .. enjoy it.

I had the NP58 for a while; also bought it on sale from SFRC and it landed at my door for < $300 all in!.

That pistol never really fit me all that well; the fat grip was a bit too big for me. I did replace the grips with a cheap set of Uncle Mike's rubber over molded grips, and it made a huge improvement over the slipery plastic ones that the pistol came with. I would rate the finish on mine as 9/10; not sharp edges; nice bluing on the slide; above average finish on the alloy frame; were it not for the grips, I would give it a 10 out of 10 for finish. Compared to my other pistols, the reset on single action was long, but the the trigger pull itself was not an issue. Double action was long and hard compared to both my NZ and my Jericho. I love the Sig pattern decocker; great feature, and it is way more user friendly than the one on my Jericho.

The other issue that I had was that the NP58 was really picky about ammo; any and all "round nose flat point" gave constant feeding problems with X-Metal being the worst. "Truncated Cone" fed much better in lead and copper plated. These issues are uniquie to the .40; I have heard of no feeding issues with the 9 mm Sig style pistols.

I have since replaced it with a full-sized steel IWI Jericho, but confess I am not shooting it as well as I did that Nork even though it fits me better and has zero jamming issues.

I have two other Norks; a 1911 and a NZ85B. The 1911 with it's stock Norinco hard rubber grips is just fine as it is; accurate and reliable (from what I read, more reliable when it comes to feeding than many other more expensive pistols). I bought it lightly used (still had some grease on it) just to try a 1911, thinking I might upgrade at some point if I really liked it; it's a keeper. The NZ85 is amazing; again no feeding issues (ever) accurate, smooth tight action, and a better than decent trigger from new; better yet after a few thousand rounds. Again, like the NP58, I found the grips slippery, and I have replaced them with CZ over molded rubber grips. Perfect pistol for me.

Norks are the best value for the money, and they have enough selection that you can find one that suits you.

They have sales like this quite often; just watch their forum here.

Got mine yesterday too, they are not consistent. Everything is fine for the price but the DA on mine is absolutely terrible and unusable. The rest is stunning for the price. Can’t wait to try it tonight

Edit: oh and reset is also terrible too on mine

I got mine yesterday too. Super greasy! DA pull on mine is pretty stiff. I can pull it without flinching. Alloy frame is great, slide finish is so/so (don't care). I really like it. I bought it to transfer to a friend once (if) he gets his license. My first thought was, damn...shoulda bought two!

Once I get my registration certificate I'll take it to the range.

I picked one up from them as well during their last 15% sale. Pistol looks pretty good for the price paid. However the double action pull is very heavy. Can I just change out the hammer spring on it like my Beretta to lighten the pull?

I tried changing out the springs on mine for lighter ones from Wolf but ended up getting constant light strikes so changed them back to the factory ones.
That being said I really like my NP22, it is my go to for our weekly pistol night and besides my experimenting on it, it has been extremely reliable.

Long reset on older SIG pistols as well; Older Berettas too.

For all that I had read about rough machining, and my experience with Norinco M14S, the innerds look pretty good, and are clean as a whistle and well lubed. They must assemble them in clean conditions. I thought I was going to find the internals coated in thick smelly protective grease, grit and metal particles. Nope, clean as any modern pistol you would buy. Whatever plant is making these is taking some care in their assembly.

Just shot 250 rounds with it. I like and shoot it better than my M&P 2.0. Not a single failure. With some grip and SRT kit its a keeper for sure

Mine just arrived. Cant wait to finish work and go unbox it. Hopefully I'll be able to get to the range this weekend to try her out.
