Has anyone successfully adjusted the NP22 rear sight without the use of a property sight adjustment tool?

I marked the location and tried to tap mine over with a hammer and brass drift but it won't budge. Kind of afraid to get a bigger hammer!

Maybe some Liquid Wrench (penetrating oil)?

There have been othere threads about the rear sight on the NP22. It seems that all or some of them just won't bug without a proper sight tool.
I shoot right handed but aim with my left eye. Standard factory sights are off for me. I wound up buying a sight adjusting tool. Rather that than have a banged up sight & slide.

An old post here, but I need to adjust my sights as well. Shooting quite a bit to the left for me, anyone find an affordable or "easy" way to adjust the sights on these?

Ditto. Been beating the piss out of my dads with hammer n drift. Currently doing google searches to find out if the thing can even BE moved!

How does the eye you use affect sight alignment? I shoot with both eyes interchangeably, depending on the hand i'm using, and don't notice an impact difference.

Mine was off in the beginning and is still off. I've tried my pusher and brute force with a brass punch to no avail. Some people were saying that it is silver soldered in. I haven't bought a torch yet to test this theory out. I've tried freezing the slide in the deep freeze and heating it up with a light but without success.

The sights on Norinco pistols very. I have never seen any that are soldered in place. Most are extremely tight, but some are so loose that they fall out during shooting, like some NP-29. The sights on my NP-58 were impossible to move with out the proper tool. I found one on eBay for about $80 after shipping. Even with the right tool, it was really hard to get it to move and I soaked it in oil for a few days.

I put some oil on the sight and let it soak for a day. Then i put the slide in a padded vice, real tight. Then I wack it with a big drift and big hammer. It moves every time.

Is your vice tight, or does it move with the blow? Is your hammer big?

My dad is going to take it to a smith today. If for some reason he doesn't I'll go biggie size on the hammer and drift. I had clamped it in the vice between 2 strips of heavy leather, but only just snug enough to hold it.

I tried oiling mine overnight and clamping it down to take whacks at it again with my brass punch and hammer. It still wouldn't budge. My last hope is in buying a torch and heating it up to break whatever devil bonds that are holding this sight in.
