NP28 Ambi safety

Has anyone done this? Which saftey did you use? I see caspian makes a high capacity one but I read somewhere else on this interweb thingy that it's been milled for use of a regular ambi safety. And before you say use the search function , I did. and came across two posts pertaining to this but they weren't really informative and the member hasn't been active since 2008 :eek: Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Haven't done it...

But the frame on the NP-28 definately appears to be milled down to standard 1911 width at the rear on both sides and uses a standard 1911 safety lock so I see no reason you can't fit an Ambidextrous one.

Thanks Will like I said any help would be appreciated :) once I have it in my hot bi hands then I will measure it up and compare, was just wondering if anyone else has done it. It's so fugly with that big gouge taken out of the side :(
 
I would not attempt fitting it without a technical manual (i.e: Kuhnhausen's or Wilson's).

A proper manual will lead you through it.
 
I'm wondering about fitment not fitting yet I have to buy the right parts before I have to worry about fitting it. But thank you for your input I actually have Kuhnhausen's book coming
 
How'd the ambi safety work out?

Any luck with the ambi safety? I recently picked up an NP28. Since the previous owner was kind enough to have the trigger done, an ambi safety is next on my list.

Did you end up doing yours? If so, how did it turn out?
