Hey guys! I'm trying to find some info for those people that painted it modified their Norinco NP29 front sight.

I get that the front sight is an odd size so some people paint it or whatever.

Also the rest sight is a standard dovetail (am I right?) So curious what people swapped that out with!

Thanks!

Front sight dovetail is .250. I had success with getting a Kimber / para ordnance fiber optic on there. As for the rear. It is GI cut. Limited option and the one company Novak, they make some sights in GI cut. But will lower the POI

I just painted my sights with neon pink. That helped speed up sight acquisition.

But then I picked up some CT laser grips on the EE and now who needs sights?

I have an np 29 with the dovetail dot sights. I filled the dots in with jb weld and then painted them flat black with a dab of white paint on the front. Makes for a much clearer presentation on the cheap.
For me the sights line up so straigt on the draw i just look for the white block.

Whats the diff? Fill the dots to paint them again...?

Sorry for my ignorance.

because some of the np29 came with a yellowish front dot that blends right in with day night. so some of us literally cleans it up and put a fresh coat of bright white paint on it.

I dont like dot sights, so i fill the dot cut outs in with JB so the faces of the sights are smooth then paint flat black with a white block front sight.
So in the end i have black rear sight and white block front sight instead of 3 dots. Luckily the whole thing lines up perfect so all i need to do is put the block on target. I really only use it for IDPA style shooting
The only thing i focus on is the front sight, always the front sight.

Yea that makes total sense. For some reason when you posted " a dab of white paint" I imagined a dot... ooops!

My front sight broke off and would love to replace with a fibre optic one. I understand the rear to be the same as a Colt, is this true?

Front dovetail is narrow. Rear sight is standard Colt.

I buy a set of Colt-sized front and rear and my gunsmith mills the front dovetail wider, to a standard size. I guess he could also mill the front sight base narrower.

I like that idea. What sights did you buy and who installed them. It’s an upgrade that would make this pistol awesome
