The flash hider is screwed onto the 18.5 barrel.

I got the handguard from a guy on acr forum. Its a magpul airsoft handguard with a custom made heat shield. The plastic is not the same quality as the basic hand guard but I figure its non structural and helps mask the longer barrel. There are guys on there making rifle lenght aluminum handguards too.

Herron, can't do much other than the flash hider because it has to be the same diameter as the barrel. I asked about doing a muzzle brake and he can't do it.

You're right Crosshair. I've seen other threads and no one can come up with anything else restricted by name.

Sorry, I'm joining this thread way late... Yes, I believe there is also a shotgun that's specifically restricted by name. And possibly one other rifle, but I can't recall offhand.

It was only in the past day or two that I was told otherwise.

As has been previously indicated, you have 30 days to re-register it. I'd also wait until you get the new registration certificate - just to be on the safe side.
