NR AR worth the extra cost?

Buy an AR now, and other a set of MS receiver.

I personally shoot at gun clubs only, R or NR doesn't make a difference to me.

And I am only interested in 5.56 that are shorter than 14.5" bbl, mainly 11.5". You will never get to play with the very cool stuff if you only play with NRs that are almost a meter long.
I agree. Shorty ARs are where the fun's at.

Hard to confiscate something that doesn't exist !
I mean, such an argument is functionally indistinct from being in possession of unregistered ARs if MSs were made prohibited along with AR-15s.

A man after my own heart. Problem is whenever I price out the build its like 3k instead of 2 haha.

Scour the EE for used of what you need. Other idea is buy the receivers and buy a short barrel AR used. $500. Part it out and you are a barrel handguard and a gas tube away from being done. Sell the upper, lower and barrel $300 and find a used barrel $200 and gas tube is cheap. If you’re lucky and the AR you bought had a free float handguard $100 or less and you can live with the short length you are done. Functionally anyway. That’s less than 2k.

Hmmmm....a join date of Jan. 2017 with only 0 feedback? whats wrong with a new member? the more the merrier, I say welcome to the world of guns and gunnutz! Every now and then you will run into snarky people like that, Don't let it get to you.

As for non restricted AR type* rifles, I say its worth it if you want to go out in the bush or hunting with it, IF you only plan to go to the range then by all means don't let a restricted throw you off, just go buy a cheap range toy and have fun but shooting out in the bush is just so much more fun! as for non restricted tax thats not as true as it once was with guns like the WK180's, scorpions and type 81's all around $1000.

He means you're suspected of being a Liberal/Media troll as you are asking about what might or might not be banned. This is because you are a new member and therefore more suspect than the long term Liberal/Troll/Media types that we all know (suspect) hide out here.

It's nothing really personal. Some people have their tinfoil a little tight, but it's not really paranoia when the bastards ARE out to get us.

He never once asked about whats being banned or not, he was asking about value, not sure what the issue is with people giving a new member abit of a hard time reflects bad on all of us...

Fine for the City people but I live in Kelowna. I can actually be at a cut block up the hill sooner than the local fish and game club. It's like 20 minutes away. There's lakes all over the place to go fishing or hunt around. It's pretty common for us to go up and have a bonfire and tannerite pumpkins, etc. Non restricted are more fun here.

P.S. before you call me a fud.. and I do have a sxs coach gun... I have a complete AR lower that's looking for a 7.5" .300 BO upper, a CZ shadow, a FMK 9ci, a Dan Wesson .357 and a .44 cal 1851 cap and ball. I don't even particularly like the AR, I like beating people with AR's with my old izzy SKS in 3 gun :) I love IPSC club matches.

Well, yeah, an NR is worth it is that context.

I'm like Greentips, I only ever shoot at the club. Where I live there are sand pits and places I can shoot at close by, but setting up all the targets and what not is a PITA to me.
The novelty of blowing crap up wore out on me years ago, cleaning up the mess was an even bigger PITA, and I wasn't one to leave garbage behind.

Nothing against it, it's fun, just not my style I guess. Mind you I miss blowing up juice jugs full of water with interesting reloaded shot shells that I would make. That was fun.

NR is not worth it to me, that's for sure, not for AR style shooting anyway.
As far as banning goes, sure, they can't take what they don't know you have. But that investments pretty much a safe queen now. Pretty much jsut an ace up your sleeve "if something goes wrong in the world", which could be worth it in of itself.

We still have our fun, but we pick up our shotgun shells and what ever non biodegradable stuff we changed over the afternoon. The people that leave dishwashers and tv's and things in the bush should be kicked in the junk once for every pound of stuff they left out there.
