In light of what's happening down south i am wanting to get some kind of black rifle before they get banned or more expensive. I am looking for non restricted rifle capable of 2 moa ( apparently 1.5 is to much to ask lol) and and preferably takes ar-15.

I've hade my eyes on a XCR-L and maybe an SL8 but those are a bit pricy so I'd have hear some good things about them.( ideally price range is less then 2000$ but if its worth it then I guess il go more)

I'm open to any and all suggestions since till now I've been an milsurp guy and I know little about black rifles

a consistent 1.5 MOA out of a non-restricted black rifle makes your choices very slim, and very ammo dependent.

If you change that to 2 MOA then the list is huge.

XCR
SL8
Swiss Arms
Tavor
MR1
Su-16
RFB
ACR (with NR barrel swap)

there's more but I'm shooting blanks here....prices vary

The Swiss Arms is likely the most accurate of the bunch (the MR1 and SL8 will apparently give it a run for its money) and can get MOA, or damn close to it with handloads.

10 shots with my pet load, minus the obvious flier that was my fault (or the muzzle blast of the guy next to me ;)).

With bulk ammo, it will usually stay around 2MOA. It seems to like the Federal XM193 I fed it, but hates Winchester White box.

Personally when folks ask me about NR anything, I suggest they get their restricted license, and do so before the next election. The easiest way for the antis to take their agenda further is to simply stop issuing new restricted licenses.

I don't really have any real range in my area so I'd rather just stick with NR for now, its a lot of work for nothing really, drive 2-4 hours to take a course so I can drive atleast 30-45 min to shoot a gun when there's a range 5 min from Town. Yes I am that lazy

On another note does anyone have a sl8,I would like to know its cons if there is any other then the stock and the proprietary mags.

Just like both the Swiss and the MR-1 but accuracy wise they are neck to neck, the MR-1 is in my opinion the one to get if it is not to put in a showroom, a real workhorse, dont get me wrong the Swiss is the best but the MR-1 is so close behind for less than half the price... JP.

Recently, I've heard a couple stories of people having their RPAL'S DOWNGRADED to just a PAL after renewing.

CFO told them they didn't own any restricteds and had no active ATT, therefore they didn't need an RPAL.

Has anyone else heard of this? I'm trying to get verified proof the CFO's are indeed doing it. If they are, we gotta get Toews on this bull:bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:.

Friend of mine has his RPAL and doesn't own any restricted firearms and said he's never gotten any flak from the CFO for it. Might just be in REALLY anti areas like Quebec and Ontario.

EDIT: And he's had his restricted endorsement on his PAL since the Firearms Act came into being, said when he applied he just had to check 1 extra box as opposed to going and taking the CRFSC.
