Had mine for 5 years and am really tired of the surplus ammo issues. Easy to clean but the bold can be a pain to re-insert sometimes. Decent accuracy, using a cheap Bushnell red dot but have never scoped it up to really check.
Just bought a case of LCW Non-corrosive made in Ukraine and had a 35% failure to fire. SKS shoots these with no issue and the size of the pin strike on the primer is huge compared to the Mini 30. I've confirmed this with other surplus ammo also, SKS will shoot no problem what my Mini 30 won't.
I've tried the Wolf spring mod a few years ago without much difference. I'm done with this as is and if I can't repair/mod the firing pin to get this work with surplus I'll trade this in. Found some videos online with success and mine's apart right now ready to go at this.
Shame really, because I like how it handles, shoots and feels. When working it's one of the most comfortable guns I've owned.
