Why? i would always use the side gate. i guess easier access to cleaning the tube but added weight. Looks like a marlin wantabee. ya polymer on a lever is just not right but i feel the same about the laminate stocks as well. Threaded barrel silencer would be ok if we didn't live in canada. Never felt adding length to a 45-70 was a plus. Hard pass!!!
