I lost sleep over this one until I finally hit the buy button.
No regrets and the best one of a very good lot of others.
Not to mention.... maple stocks are usually heavier, too.

Maple stocks always look like a poorly refinished stock. (You know the ones.......super light color, dark in the checkering where they didnt get the original finish off, but now see what the original dark color was)


However, if the fiddleback is present in the blank then it can be brought out by burnishing without flame .Proper oldtime tiger tail maple stocks were done up by flame char process followed with oil finish.
