What are your guys thoughts on 6.5 PRC for shooting NRL hunter matches. I know lots of guys use 6.5cm, it barely makes power factor with 140 grain bullets. I already have a 6.5cm for shooting PRS, id like to have something different.
 
6.5CM easily makes power factor with 140grain+ bullets and 22"+ barrel. Worst case you reload something a bit heavier like a 145,147,153.5 and easily make PF.

6.5PRC is overkill from a power factor and recoil perspective. Other than that, it's a perfectly good choice. With the stages being max 8 rounds, magazine capacity isn't a problem.
 
If you have a 6.5 PRC that you'd like to use for NRL Hunter, no reason not to. As far as building one specifically for the matches, there's no advantage in doing so other than the added power factor being used as a tie breaker if it comes to that. The added recoil and shorter barrel life are definitely negatives. There's a reason that 6.5 Creed and 25 Creed are the go to cartridges for NRL Hunter.
 
My friend and I are putting together our rifles for NRL Hunter next year. Both are in 6.5 creedmoor. I’m staying in heavy as I couldn’t get to 12lbs with my setup. To get to 12lbs you need some fancy hardware (my friend is running manners lrh stock, carbon fiber barrel, nightforce, etc

Is there a factory/stock division? Are the rules the same for all north american competitions? Where can a guy find the rules? Sorry for the rapid fire questions haha. I am really wanting to shoot an NRL match!

Yes, those divisions exist. The rules are more complicated so I'll have to defer to the rule document and the facebook group "NRL HUNTER COMMUNITY OFFICIAL" where the experts reside.

I wish there was more up here and the entry fees were cheaper.

With the exchange rate so bad, its too expensive for me to even consider going south to shoot in a match. Even the matches up here for what it costs me in fuel, hotels, food, ammo etc for a weekend I can go to Mexico for a week and lay on the beach. Shooting is becoming a rich mans game, and youre going to see the attendance become less and less if something doesn't give.
 
Running a 6.5 or 25 PRC isn’t a bad idea for the game. There is range uncertainty some times if targets are hard to ping with your range Finder and the extra speed of a PrC may buy you a hit or two each match

wouldn't you rather shoot a match than go to mexico?
