NS deer season success

Well sat last night for a couple of hours and connected with a nice little six point just before end of legal light. This is the fifth and biggest buck that I've seen in two days, with another two bucks still running around, bringing the total up to 7 in my little area and hardly a doe in sight, unheard of around here. I had a couple of real excited little boys, makes dragging a deer a little more interesting when you've got a three year old and a five year old, one flashlight and a 140/150 lb deer in a swamp. Well, now back to the bears.

Nice little buck. It's great to see the youngsters out too. It's been kinda weird for me this year as well, not seeing the amount of doe's around.

Nice little buck. Boy seeing those kids and the deer brings back old memories from when I was a kid in Nova Scotia.

That's a 30/06 made by Midland (Parker Hale? I think), it was given to me by my uncle when I was old enough to get a deer tag. I've never hunted with another rifle other than my grandfather's PH 303 when I had some problems with the 30/06.

Usually we don't see many bucks around here, if you see it, usually it gets taken. I let three bucks walk Friday morning (opener) and one Friday evening, all smaller than this guy. Turned out I didn't have the will power to let this one walk.

I got this one the 27th at 4:15pm
I didn't have the boy with me, but I had the girlfriend. First time she's ever been deer hunting, got to see the bang-flop then the field dressing and even got to help drag him out
