I did some digging around and found a guy in the states that inlets for these rifles. His prices seems to range from $150 - $200 and can go up depending on options. I'd like to speak to him about possibly putting together a laminate stock for around $125 if we have enough interest (maybe even cheaper).

Here is the guys website http://www.donstith.com/sporter_class.html

We would have to figure out the logistics of importing them.

UPDATE - I found a stock maker in Canada that may be able to do it. If there is interest I will push a little harder.

Any takers?

The american gentlemen has the inletting pattern and a few different styles whereas the Canada gentlemen would have to work from a supplied action (mine) and then design the stock around that. We would have to come up with a design that people would be interested in.

The first Canadian company I spoke with was not interested in inletting for a new pattern.

I did speak to another company that would offer a walnut stock in a variety of tactical and hunting styles for $160. The rough details can be found below:

UNFINISHED STOCKS (Norinco NS522)
included: inletting done, Recoil Pad, swivel studs (front and rear) and initial 80grit sanding
needed: 120-220 grit sanding, staining and final clear (made by customer)
Qty: 20 stocks
Price: $160.00/each

I'm in for one.

me too, please. put me down for 1. Don Stith is known for his work with benchrest rimfire rifles, and he does very nice work.

ok, read a few posts down, still in for 1.

it would be nice if we could see photos of the actual stock that they would make. My suggestion would be a ambidextrous walnut sporter stock.

Sorry, I kind of got distracted. Life has a way of doing that sometimes.

So I have no deal with the gentlemen in the states but the guy here in Canada seems eager. Due to some personal issues I am abandoning my NS522 project. I can provide the details regarding the stocks if someone wants to take the lead. The pricing was based on 20 stocks but I'm sure you could get it down a bit.

Thanks,
