What would you expect if you entered the pistol matches at NSCC? I've shot IDPA for 16 years.
Equipment? How many mags etc? 2 days?
Sounds like fun and living near Borden it might be worth checking out.
I have been shooting with the ORA since 2011 and Service Pistol the last few years. My son has been doing it the last three years. It's a lot of fun. Not as dynamic as IPSC/IDPA/USPSA. But it focuses more on marksmanship and prowess.

Our equipment:
- Two piece belt.
- Holster.
- Four mag pouches.
- Dump Pouch for stuff (fifth mag, water bottle, lickies & chewies).
- Micro Med Kit.

You will need a minimum of five (5) mags. 3 matches are four (4) mags and 3 matches are five (5) mags.

If you have a belt set up already with four mag pouches you're set. Or just use your pockets.

From the CoF/Score Sheet:

Service Pistol Load Out:

1.)Match 20/21, 2 mags of 10 rds, 2 mags, of 6 rds

2.)Match 22,23, 2 mags of 10 rds, 2 mags of 8 rds, 1 mag of 4rds

3.)Match 24/25, 2 mags of 8 rds, 1 mag of 4rds, 1 mag of 10 rds, 1 mag of 8 rds

4.)Match 27, 4 mags of 5 rds

5.)Match 28, 1 mag of 10 rds, 4 mags of 5 rds

6.)Match 40, 3 mags of 10 rds

If you are interested in more service pistol shooting, the OSA matches will be held Saturday-Sunday, Oct.4-5, at Milcun Training Center near Minden. The matches are similar, except that they start with a hot holster - so you must be holster qualified. IPSC, CDPA, OSA, Police, etc.

I have asked about accommodations at Base Borden. The ORA point of contact has been discussing this with the Base. I would not count on quarters being available.

Note that due to how practiscore treats v-bulls if you got more than 100 Vbulls, it also added 1 point to your total score and started counting Vbulls again from zero.

We want to thank everyone for such a good turn out of high caliber shooters. A huge credit to the range staff as most days ran very well. Thank you for everyone's patience as we worked through changes to the shooting program and discrepancies with the rule book. Congratulations to all the prize winners at the matches. Once the final results are tabulated, an update will be sent, and then digital certificates will be created and emailed to the winners.

Yours in shooting,

Andrew Vincent and Dave Eisele
ORA Service Conditions Match Directors

NSCC was fun. I am very happy to have done so well in SR.
The comradery among competitors was impressive a decade ago and has not diminished. The work of the organisers did not go without notice.

I guess I should put this right here.
I shot NSCC with a borrowed MRA Renegade because I couldn't get my Ruger American to feed reliably. The Renegade was not the AR I wanted to use, or perfect for the role but it was a much better option than not competing. After 5 years of wanting things to go back to pre OIC I decided I would rather get on with it. The Renegade worked well.

SR with a straight pull is much better than not shooting SR. I am over wishing and wanting. I can remember to run a bolt if it means competing.

I bought a receiver set before I flew home.
