Nuisance Bears

Maybe if you are Carrie Hunt ..... not so much for the average pooch.
Getting a dog to alert people about predators is a big chunk of the reason people get them. This dog was as old as dirt, partially blind and s**ting itself in fear. Still managed to do a bang up job. A dog will make you aware of animals in the area and in a lot of cases cause the bear to go hunt someone elses garbage.

Good point. We used to always take our little terrior/chahoahoa cross berry picking.
Now this guy has to replace 2 doors and get new jeans.
What Chevy Chase movie was that where he gave the bear a reverse mohawk?:D

I live out of town and have bears in my hard a few times every year. I also have a three year old. I've got dogs, and they're trained to put the run on bears immediately when they are seen. I did have one bear come back after being chased off, but it works the vast majority of the time. Keeping a shotgun/rifle handy for those stubborn bears is also a good idea.
