found this today early low cut wood. its double stamped marked however. brit and canadian interesting

The original drawing for the forend specified the low wall, which would clear a magazine cut-off. A cut-off was not incorporated in production No. 4 rifles, so the low sidewall was redundant. The drawing was altered, eliminating this profile. Existing inventory of this pattern were used up. They generally appear on earlier production rifles.

This is correct. Sometimes they are called "trails wood sets". I'll attach a picture of my stock, which is also marked LB and CCM. Also, mine has a T in a circle stamped on the underside near the magazine. Not sure if it's T for trails or something else.IMG_0604.jpg
