Number of Canadian C1 Rifles produced

Problem with sending them to A-stan would probably be the effectiveness of the 9mm round in desert conditions.

Good for house-clearing (though there are much better weapons nowadays) but.

1. Limited range compared to AK
2. New system to train troops on in addition to AK
3. New ammunition to add into A-stan's domestic supply chain (they probably currently use the 9mm Makarov ammo....can you imagine the confusion amongst new troops...I mean, both are 9mm...they SHOULD be interchangeable in their minds.)
4. Limited penetration power compared to AK. (7.62x39mm turns cover into concealment quite nicely...9mm rounds do not.)

There's a couple of reasons why not.

some body should have stole them, before they could make such an atrocity

That is probably why they were destroyed. If you are a dictator in a socialist country, you don't want the peasants to get their hands on a bunch of military arms.

I guess thats why the americans busted up old crates of M14s instead of old M16s for Iraq. :D

well, it seams there is a need for more powerful round than a 5.56mm in iraq. matter of fact in the guns&ammo combat arms latest issue says that the US army are using a 7.62 nato FAL shortty by some units, made in the US by DSA.

heres is a pic.

Interesting, new FN's being made...just after we scrapped all of ours...sucks...in other words, the design is not only not obsolete but still quite useful and new parts can still be sourced.

Perhaps the US has come to learn that whoever they help and arm today, they will be fighting with 10 years from now. Maybe that is why they are giving second string weaponry to them.

what second string weaponry?

poler man: the DSA FAL has a 11" barrel.

Instead of destroying them what is wrong with selling them? Well the semi autos anyways. Mind you I remember the trick of flipping the saftey all the way around to go full auto.

you answered your own question, it doesnt take much to make it into full auto.

sorry your logic is flawed it doesn't take much to make anything full auto. The IRA has been doing it for years. its easy to jump on the BAN WAGON! with that logic we should ban metal!
A FULL AUTO firearm is the Simplest thing to make from scratch ..some would argue easyer than an single shot.
