Hey guys,

I have a question for the revolver nutz out there. I bought a ruger super blackhawk in .44 mag and I just noticed while cleaning it that it has numbers written on the cylinders. Anybody know what it means? Apologies for the slightly blurry photo.

Thanks for the help,

J

Only the person how engraved them knows what they mean. I highly doubt it came from the factory that way.

Do the numbers relate to the last digits of the serial number? Maybe he had more than one revolver.

this. i have a ruger blackhawk convertible and they both have the same style of numbering. the cylinder is fitted to the gun so you know not to put it in another similar gun.

yes it does, however the F or 7 (not sure what it is) at the top is not part of it. I learn something new everyday on here. Thanks guys.

I learned something new to. Makes sense for a SA convertible, but kind of crude.

Looks to me as a tuning job. IE a timing or other aftermarket improvement where the chambers were marked.
