Any one know if extractors for M14/M1A fall under the export ban/permit required?Or would they fall under the less then $100.00 rule.I emailed Numrich but they don't seem to want to reply.Like to get a spare or 2.and would they fit the norinco I wonder

The problem with Numrich and others instead of listing parts as M1A they list all parts as M14 and No export of those parts listed for M14 allowed

This is a copy of an email I sent to Numrich on December 02, 2008, the reply came back on the 5th.

Dear Greg,

Sorry, we cannot send any parts for the M1A, we can send the M1 Garand parts, with the exception of the bolt, receiver and barrel.

Thank You,

Nancy

Hello,

I'm interested in ordering some parts but I live in Canada and had some questions. From what I understand I cannot place an order that comes to more than $500. I'm confused about the restricted parts/models. Is any part for a restriced model prohibited or just what you have listed (barrels, bolts, receivers etc)?

It might be easier to just to list what I'm looking for. The parts are for a Sprinfield M1A, I'm looking for a
firing pin,
extractor sping,
ejector and spring
fiberglass stock and handguard,
rear sight components,
flash hider and castle nut

Are parts for the M1 Garand exportable as long as they're not a bolt, receiver, barrel etc?

Thanks,
Greg

Yah it sucks but order their M1 extractors and they are the "late" type aka the modified style after they had issues with the M14 and blanks. The modified type being correct for both rifles after the modifications took place as far as I know.

Brownells has the ejector assemblies as well.

Just need a couple of firing pins now.

Whats the Hardest parts for us to get on our M14s ?
Give me a list of stuff you would think people here would Need or want.
No Receivers or Barrels just the Small stuff.

x2 on the firing pins, I'd love to have a couple. Also a few extractor springs with the little end pieces would be great.

Rear sight assemblies would be in demand too I'd say.

Definitely Fiberglass stocks and handguards. These would sell like hotcakes, especially if, for a beater, you could bring em in for <$75.00

numrich won't do stocks...... and the m14 stocks and parts require state dept export permits. The only guy i have seen in canada with recent imports of g.i. stocks.... is Fabsports, a dealer here on cgn. The product he is selling could only originate from Numrich.... at least i am assuming that, and he has found a way to gain approval for this import. I tried many times and failed....... maybe i should try angain ;) The several hundred i managed to lay my mitts on (and since liquidated) came to me by other means and prior to the state dept regulations that exist today.

try fabsports he lists them on his website

These are the parts that the M1 and the M14/M1A share.

  • butt swivel
  • lower butt plate screw
  • rear sight aperture
  • elevation knob and pinion (note that the M14 elevation knob is calibrated in meters, while the M1 Garand elevation knob is calibrated in yards)
  • rear sight base
  • sight cover
  • trigger (although the sear requires slight modification of the M14 sear for use in the M1 Garand rifle)
  • hammer
  • hammer spring
  • hammer spring plunger
  • hammer spring housing
  • safety
  • hammer pin
  • trigger pin
  • extractor
  • extractor spring
  • extractor spring plunger
  • hand guard band (as long as it has not been deformed during removal from the M14 rifle hand guard or the M1 Garand rifle rear hand guard)
  • and butt plates on certain M14 stocks.

Thanks to Different for completing this list for us!
