Nuts, used large rifle pocket uniformer on pistol brass...toss it?

I grabbed to wrong primer pocket uniformer off the shelf (I guess I should label them as Sinclair doesn't ) and whipped through half a bag of 41 mag brass before realizing it. So, I've now got a bunch of pistol brass with pockets that are cut to .128 rather than .122. Is that .006 missing from the web (which should be .086, and is now .080) something to be concerned about, assuming the firing pin can still reach the primer and ignition is consistent? WLP Primers are seating .008 below flush, which is a bit outside of what is recommended.

I would shoot them. As long as the firing pin still hits them properly I wouldn't be concerned.

I would load just a primer in one enpty shell and see if the gun will still fire that. If so, I'd have no problem using them.

Way too dangerous! Send them to me and I will dispose of them in my special disposal machine. ( Marlin lever in 41 mag). Try one, shouldn't be a problem.

DarkSyd: I have shot over 5600 rounds of TARGET loads of 44 Mag (revolver) using both LR mag and LR primers. Most (4700+) were LR mag primers, simply because I had a large surplus of these primers on hand and I mostly shoot handgun. I used a LR pocket uniformer to form the deeper pockets. No problem with TARGET loads. I don't use the deepened primer pockets for full loads so can't say or not if they are safe to use for these. For max. loads I use LP primers in unaltered primer pockets. It is my understanding that the thickness of the web is more than enough to make the use of rifle primers safe. I got the info. to deepen the pockets to use rifle primers from one of the other gun forums (can't recall which but it may have been the Cast Bullet Association forum). I am almost out of the LR primers so today, I fired 5 rounds loaded with pistol primers in the deeper pockets - no problem. This is my feedback for the 44 Mag cartridge - don't know if the same applies to the 41 Mag.

Thanks folks, as always, great info. Firing pin has no problem striking the primer (tested with primed case and a couple of light loads), so I guess we're all good. I'm still going to electropencil an identifier on the LR uniformer though so I don't make that mistake again.

I'm not planning on shooting anything near max loads anyways. back40sniper, I'm afraid you'll have to find something else to feed your Marlin. In fact, you should just sell it to me
