Hi
I bought a Nylon 12 and it was shipped Canada Post and when I received it the stock was broke clean off the rest of the stock at the grip. I contacted Remington about a replacement stock or repair and did not get too far. I realize it is unlikely I can get a Remington replacement stock.
- Does anyone know who makes an aftermarket stock for a Nylon 12 ? I am ok with it being non original gun
- I can glue the broken stock together and have it 3D scanned and then 3D printed - has anyone done this ? I realize that it will not be an exact replica
- Has anyone ever successfully epoxy the broken stock together and had good results ? I heard that the Dupont Nylon used for the stock needs a proper epoxy to get a decent plastic weld joint. I am open to sending the broken stock pieces to a experienced gunsmith to get this done.

Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

Cheers
Chris

The nylon 12 was made on for two years 1962/64. So parts are going to be very hard to find
A plastic company with 3D might be able to make one out , but it would be costly
Collect the insurance because this could get expensive

They are made of unobtainium. Premium rifle for the nylon collectors. I agree get C Post to pay the damages. But good luck with them. I haven’t been able to get them to pay out anything in the last two years of damages. Your luck might be better though.

Take both pieces of the broken stock to a body shop, they use a glue that they use to glue car's back together, see if they can help you out. A friend of mine works in a body shop and he fixed a plastic shoulder stock that I had that was to short for me. He cut the stock, added a piece in with some of the body shop glue and it's been holding for a few years now. This was on a .22 semi-auto.

Canada Post denied the insurance claim. Their reason was that it was shipped from the seller without a plastic container /case. It was shipped in bubble wrap and decent box but it was unacceptable in the opinion of Canada Post. Thanks for all your responses - I will try to research this on other forum and post the fix. I heard that Loctite makes a two part plastic repair epoxy that works on repairing Dupont nylon plastic material. I am also going to try and add some dowel pins to ensure its going to hold.

Neither here or there, but that's a typical "not our fault" damage claim excuse. If the packaging was deemed insufficient, then they should have never accepted the parcel and be able to demonstrate a specific (documented) policy regarding a hard case requirement. They know this. Don't let them drop drop the claim and get at least $100 from them (max claim without insurance). If you had full insurance, claim the full amount plus 10%. I've had them offer to "buy" a whole gun for the claim amount because they thought that I might being trying to scam them. They are playing games I think.
