how would you leave the action open on a nylon 66 while going down range ( they don`t lock open). I assume a chamber flag would just break when the bolt closes on it. So how would you make this gun safe while going forward?
Any decent chamber flag should be fine. The spring in you bolt isn't that powerful. It's only a .22 and chamber flags can withstand more battery that you bolt is capable of. You should be fine using one.
Cut your self a foot of weed eater cord and insert it in chamber with a flag on the end if you so desire and then follow established rules. Most cords are quite hi viable colors and work well.I use them on my CZ bolt actions all the time.I usually have 1/2 dozen cut and give them to new shooters at the range.
