So I'm really new to this whole "restricted" thing. So new that I have yet to even buy my first restricted firearm.
I'm on a bit of a restricted budget (ha ha!) so I have to be mindful of my purchases.
I've been told and I've read that a .22 is one of the best ways to learn to shoot handguns. However, I'd like to have a 9mm simply for the added "punch". (and so I'm not seen as a sissy with just a little .22) Actually, I'd like to have a .45, but the cost of ammo would probably be prohibitively expensive to do the amount of shooting that I'd like to see myself doing.
With this in mind, I'm thinking that an NZ-85 with a Kadet .22 conversion kit would "fit the bill", so to speak. This should keep the overall cost to $800 or so including taxes and few extra mags. I know that for slightly more I could have a "real" CZ-85, but then I wouldn't have the .22 option.
So what do you think? Good idea? Bad idea? Are there better options for me that you can think of? How about the availability of Kadet conversion kits in Canada? I've looked around but can only seem to be able to find them in the US.
Any and all help appreciated.
Matthew
