Well had my NZ out to the range last friday.

Load it up rack the slide fire = click

SRF = click

After doing this a couple of time looking at the ammo shows no impact at all.

Is their another way to check for the firing pin being broken.

I have depressed the FP safety and pushed on the back side of the pin and nothing can be seen through the port.

So CGN Smiths I ask you for your help.

Thanks

Is this the first time you shot it? If so the firing pin might be seized up with gunk, give it a good flush with gun scrub/brake cleaner, followed by WD 40. Check to see if the firing pin safety disconnect in the frame is lifting up. Also make sure the firing pin safety in the slide is free to move. I test my firing pins by placing a tiny piece of tape over the firing pin of a empty casing and see if the firing pin actually contacts the primer, if it does it will punch a hole through the tape. Are you sure the gun was fully in battery?

I always get good primer hits with mine

Well got the pin out and it had a ber on it smothered that out but it still does not have enough force to fire.

I thing it had a crack and a small amount of it is missing.

I need to know the length of an NZ 85b firing pin. Mine is 55.76 mm and 1.60 mm wide.

So if anyone has one could you pull the firing pin out and measure it for me please. Thanks.

Hmmm....did someone just get a new digital caliper?

Hi,
I had a similar issue with my NZ-40. The little lever on the far right that is supposed to engage the firing pin safety would come loose from its spring and get stuck forward.

A CZ knowledgable friend took the firing pin safety completly out of my pistol and I removed that little lever on the far right. Now it works great.

I was getting light strikes on the primers or no strike at all.
