O.K. Deer Hunters...what are your nicknames for deer

When I first started hunting some friends who had hunted awhile used to refer to a big buck as a "ridge runner" (and a big trout as a "yard long")

I once saw a big buck up at the in-laws farm while hunting and for some reason named him "Charlie" My brother in law thought that was funny and now he refers to all big bucks as "Charlie".

Well for a Few of Us down here, we use terms like

Sambar get called 'Moose' or 'honkers'
Fallow are 'spottys' or 'Croakers' (buck)

some I call

Chital/axis - 'cheetahs'
Rusa - 'roosters'

An Malform species of Deer get called "Mongrels"

Cheers

My father for years has called big does, "bald faced old sluts" lol don't know where he got that from.
"propeller heads" is another.

"button buck" is always one I laugh at, a "button buck" is a fawn, period.

In our camp, we hunt for "ball draggers" early in the week, but its always a standing joke that with each passing day smaller deer are considered "ball draggers" There has been many "bald faced old sluts" fall on Thursday by guys hunting "ball draggers"

Anything I would eat is "Hamburger on the Hoof" including things without hooves.

Pigs are "Bak'n Still Mak'n".

Any male deer or moose that is just a fawn or yearling I call a "gelding".

Any male deer or moose with a huge rack or paddles I call a "Poach Victim" because I know I won't see that deer or moose again in the area as if they are no harvested legally they will likely be harvested illegally.

Does and cows are "Freezer Filler".
