O rings for Rem 1100

I just got a 1100 made in 1979. It has never been fired and still has the original o-ring. I plan to shoot it with the original o-ring first to see if its actually still functional. I cleaned it up and put some oil on the o-ring to see if it will soak it up. It didnt feel brittle but definitely a little a dry.

Yup here you can see all the bluing is still on the mag tube. There is some pitting on the parts of the barrel where the for-end was touching the metal all those years.

Finally got to take it out today and shot a round of trap. Kept the old o-ring in there and shot 100% flawlessly. Amazed the o-ring didnt dry out and not function properly.

Bit late to the party here but believe it or not I got a pack of air conditioning o rings from princess auto of all places. They were green. The one thats in my 1100 has been there for 4 years now. I picked up my 1100 from a gun shop for 150 bucks. Ive updated everything about it though. Man I love that old girl. Sooooo reliable.

Caterpillar o-ring face seal 5K3000 is the one I use,
