I have an older German O/U with the lever to the left syndrome. Shoots great and locks up tight. Should I get it looked at or keep on shooting it?
 
Lever to the left of center is rarely a good thing. It usually indicates wear on the locking lugs as the lugs are shorter than when they started or that the hinge has worn meaning the gun is off the face and the lugs have to go further forward to fully engage.

However it may not be serious in this instance. Does this gun have a Kersten cross locking system, as in is there a metal bar that runs through the top of the action and protrudes when the gun is open? German guns frequently have them. If so I wouldn't be as worried about lever position if the gun is otherwise locking up solidly.

Yes it is a Kersten action.
 
If your gun is tight and on face I would not rush it to a gunsmith. Levers left of centre are only one sign of overall wear or looseness. Jae
