O&U / semi for trap and field

Its been 20+ years since I've shot trap and from reading your forum things have come a long way. I have one of two shotguns in mind but am consered about loads for trap and field. I'm not much of a hunter but its nice to go out and take some upland ever once in a while ( in season of course). My last shotgun was a Citori field and used #7.5 shot at about 1200 fps for trap. A heavy gun, this gave me the ability to increase loads for upland. Doing some research now sways me towards the Beretta Teknys Gold. All I find is that it was designed for trap loads. I'm hoping that unlike the Remington 1100 Competition the Beretta can also take field loads. Any experience??? I'm also told its a very sweet firearm ( the Beretta). Any one know who carries the Teknys Gold Trap??

Most trap guns are HEAVY because you tend to shoot all day, and carry very little. Most upland guns are LIGHT because you tend to carry all day and shoot very little.

You can use either type of gun or a compromise for both, but personally I use more than one shotgun.

Not only does it handle hunting loads, it seems to really work well with very light target loads for those who do not see the need for a steady diet of those big three dram trap loads.

A few months ago I saw a couple at Canadian Tire on Southland Drive in Calgary.

Me too! As much as I like the citori o/u and the beretta autos, for me they are far too heavy for anything more than a quick walk around a field. I prefer lighter.

Works with everything I've tried from 3" mags down to my 7/8s ounce handloads loafing out at 1,150 fps. I have yet to try the Winchester Low Recoil, Low Noise in mine 391 Sporting but it wouldn't surprise me if they worked.
