O/U Trap gun advice

Fit is everything. Getting an adjustable comb is one way to make sure it will fit. At your budget there are a lot of good options and you probably won't go wrong with anything, unless you buy something pretty that doesn't fit right.

There are many good guns on the market, but as most everyone has stated already, fit is everything.
You can break far more birds with a cheap gun that fits than you can with an expensive one that doesn't.

Your budget should get you into a good used B-gun., either 30" or 32". If it's Trap you're going to shoot, then by all means, a Trap Model.

If you're looking at the other target sports as well (Skeet, Sporting & 5-Stand) as well as Trap, a flat shooting Sporting model with adjustable comb may be a
better option. An adjustable comb can be added to a gun for around $200 or a little more ... several good installers right here in Ontario.

Have you tried a few of the "B" guns at your local Club. Most shooters are more than helpful if they know you're looking for a new gun to let you try theirs
for a round or two. Beware of those offering their Perazzis, Kreighoffs & DT-11's !!!! Your budget wil go right out the window ! ;)

I will never have to worry about blowing my budget on a Krieghoff. Now the other "K" gun?! Blowing my budget would be WAY too easy on one of them!! :runaway:

Same here, all about growing the sport and giving back.
Oshawa Skeet & Gun Club. Can arrange all kinds of kit, from mild to wild to crazy.

I really appreciate all the help. I'm not new to the game but always used my hunting guns for it. Would love to try some and can pay back in shooting my range toys as well.

I'm joining Oshawa this year and GRGC after using Silverdale and the most expensive club in GTA :nest:

Some of us had limited funds when we started and shot other peoples kit, then bought what we could..which in my case was a cheap pump. Wouldn’t change a thing.
Liabilities can become assets.

Hunting guns are fine, especially starting out in the game. A quality gun will stand up to years of shooting and many thousands of rounds. There is a saying ... you haven't bought your last target shotgun, yet. Take your time and try different guns. Talk to lots of people. You will minimize the number of target shotguns that you will buy.
