Inaudible grumbling........Please explain how they would have a "more tactical focus"? From what I've seen with Oakley products you're paying for the name not the product. Aside from offering some revolutionary reticle style, a more robust design or competitive pricing. Oakley optics have a slim chance of storming the market.

I'm not alone when I say that Oakley glasses feel like cheap crap. I haven't had much experience with their other products so I can't comment. All I see are high prices and the usual expense associated with "cool gear". The optics game(as far as firearms) won't be something easily broken into. Perhaps with their cult like following they may have little issue. Personally, without something revolutionary in either product or price they'll be another brand option and nothing more.

I have three pairs of Oakleys the oldest being 10yrs the newest 1 yr. They are the best made frames and lenses I have ever used. In fact, I had my eyes saved by them in a fairly serious explosion with black powder that had me in the hospital for a while.
I think they should leave scopes alone though. Don't spread yourself thin, and stuff like that.
It is an excellent question but the answer depends really on what they can offer.
I would consider Oakley as much as any other brand. I would not buy just because it is Oakley, but I would not discard them just because they do not have history in the segment.
Any indication if they are going to have a holo-sight or just scopes?
From what I have heard they have put out a few different prototypes to be tested in the field (not sure what their plan is for holo or not). One report was some of the tubes are shaped oval like their logo. Another was that instead of using a dial to focus it was a push pull leaver (if that makes sense(?)).
