Hi lexxsilver, welcome to CGN! The best tip I can give you is to start reading posts, and use the search function. There's a ton of good info here, and you just have to dive in. If you're into shotguns, there's a forum for that. Handguns? There's a forum for that, too. Ditto military surplus (milsurps), target shooting (my thing), centerfire, rimfire, etc etc.
We need newcomers to our sport/passion/way of life, so we're glad you found us. And here's my standard plea to newcomers:
