I tried this in the Ammo forum and got nuthin. If anyone has any could you let me know what the overall length is. Or Black Hills 175. Thanks Rod.

It would almost certainly be somewhere in the range of 2.775"-2.800".

Since SAAMI max overall length is 2.800", a commercial reloader can't make ammo longer than that without running the risk of it not working in every rifle out there.

i have a few rounds 168gn GMM laying around that varies from 2.798 to 2.804.

with SAAMI Max length for .308 being 2.810 and the 175gn being a longer bullet, i would guess they are loaded to the same 2.800 nominal OAL.

you do realize that coal is a useless measurement except for making it fit a magazine?

The distortion on a bullet tip varies from bullet to bullet. precision relaoders measure off the ogive of the bullet. THAT is where the money is because it is where the bullet sits in relation to the lands. for true consistency just ignore the coal and get a bullet comparator set for your calipers.

Yes I do understand that, and I do use a bullet comparator. I just want to load some bullets the same length as the GMM.
