So i have a lot of old reload sitting around (9mm) and i just put them through a 9mm gauge to make sure they are size right . But id like to know how pick glock and cz are for the OAL

J the CZ line pf pistols have very short leades which means if you have a bullet with a large olgive you will have to load it shorter than say you would with a Glock.

The easiest way to calculate the OAL of a cartridge with any given bullet is to take veneer calipers and do the following:

1. Remove the barrel from your gun.

2. Measure the length of the bullet you are going to use.

3. Drop the bullet into the chamber of the gun and measure from the base of the bullet to where the cartridge case would lie flush with the hood of the barre.

4. Add the two measurements together.

5. Deduct a few thousandths off the total and that will be the maximum length of your cartridge for that gun using that bullet.

6. Check to ensure the cartridge with that OAL will load in your magazine.

Take care

Bob
