Oberndorf Mauser

Many years ago, at a Gun Show, I had a conversation with Eric Lerhe, he told me that prices about Oberndorf Kurz rifles where going crazy, he said also that even actions alone worth couple of thousands. The few times I had the chance for this little Kurz, I tryed with an extra "coin" in my pocket
I hear you. I posted picks of Kurz action Niedner custom mauser I acquired a while back. Had a couple enquiries about selling and one guy offered me 2k just for the action and floor plate.. Declined that. Just too nice a rifle to destroy..

I'm thinking sometime in the future to find a stock for one of my 2 Kurz I have.
One is in the type S configuration 8X51K and is in 95% original,
The other one as a modified stock, 8X51K, DST, German lever floorplate, with an all matching barrel action.
Would like to fit a nice stock one day.

Just out of curiosity, what are they worth, let say in good working condition all original, no rust or pitting with really good bore?

Thanks again for the info
For the intermediate action found in original Oberndorf sporters, they have the same measures between the action screws as a regular action, wich is not the same for Yogoslavians, Zastavas, Mexicains, ect., Wich they don't have the same space between the screews
I stand corrected. I measured my action and it's a full length 98. Not the intermediate.

So this is a Mauser-branded Zastava from the 90s?
Why would Mauser do that? Was Mauser itself even based in Oberndorf by the 90s?
It reminds me of the way Harley-Davidson slaps its logo on nearly any product that will pay for it.
Or maybe it's more like a Harley logo on a Yamaha clone.
From "Gunboard Threads january 2020"
"It is a commercially produced M98 by Zastava in the 1980s. Zastava did not reuse actions from WWII. The name "Mauser-Werke Oberndorf GmbH" and the Mauser banner were licensed to Zastava for this rifle. "GmbH" stands for: "Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung". That is the post-war German equivalent of a Limited Liability Company (LLC)."

So basically they paid to use the Mauser trademark Banner to help their marketing even though they had no real connection with the Mauser company. Just like most Harley products.

I have no evidence of it being a legit fact but perhaps this is a "byf" military mauser action? The action is full length, has the military cut out, stripper clip bridge removed. Yugoslavia ended up with a large amount of K98k's after the war, so from my perspective, its possible? I could be wrong though.

Nice gun, and in great condition. On the high side of pricing. I've come across them for better prices and you have too.
Decades ago, I lived just down the street from Reliable and often checked out their used gun rack. It was very accessible, right in front of the main counter. Prices were low and many great deals were to be had. I recall a Mauser Model M in otherwise very good condition that I passed on just because it had an altered bolt handle. The price was under $400.
