I was out again yesterday with my 10/22 nomad and again had jamming issues. I've always thought that the extra nubbin on the front of my mags was excess flashing that I should remove, but I was told to leave it alone in another thread. However, when I inspected a friend's butler creek mags yesterday, they just had a smooth rounded section in the front rather than this nubbin, and they also functioned flawlessly in my gun. See photos below. Thoughts? Dave? All 4 of my mags look like this.

That sure looks like molding flash to me. If your friends don't have it and his mags work without issue I'd say trim it out. If they were my mags that is what I would do.

How could someone justify leaving it on?

Do they have mags with this flashing and they were ruined by taking it off?

I think those people saying leave it on were just giving their opinions.Internet opinions.

This is an opinion too, (I have BC mags) but what I'm saying is logical and makes sense.

BC mags work great. Their profile shape wins.

I've been in the injection molding business most of my adult life and what that looks like is the gate. In case you don't know what that is it's the spot where the plastic enters the molded part, looks like they just broke it off, they could have done a better job of trimming it.

I'm in the same trade and agree with you totally. Poor design to put the gate there followed by poor quality inspection me thinks.

Winchester94's idea to trim one and see how it goes is a good idea.
